Champion's Fans

"Mr. Jim Clark was my point of contact with Champion; he was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. It was a pleasure doing business with him. The members of all of the crews, water removal/drying, carpet layers and packers were courteous, professional, arrived on time, and completed work in a timely manner. In addition, they were friendly. We are very pleased with Champion's response and work and I will gladly recommend Champion to others. I will express my satisfaction with Champion to USAA." - Water Damage in Fayetteville, GA

"I have never been as impressed with a great group of young men. Very professional, efficient and knowledgeable of their line of work. Big kudos to Colby...loved this kid!!!" - Water Damage in Ellenwood, GA

Going Green Is Catching On

pam1Going Green is almost a fad nowadays.  Celebrities are doing it, your neighbors are doing it, and you should too.  In order to go green you have to think way beyond recycling.  Unplugging your electronic household items when they are not in use can save 8% on your electricity bill each month because these items drain energy even they are off.  Setting your AC up higher than normal or at times even turning it off a couple of days a weeks can save enery through the summer months.  Carpooling with co-workers not only saves you money and fuel but also eliminates the amount of carbon monoxide that is released into the atmosphere, helping lower a risk of global warming.  Going Green not only saves money, but helps protect people, animals and our precious planet!

"Unfried" Green Tomatoes

kathyOne of the legendary movies of all times, "Fried Green Tomatoes" acquainted people from all over the world to a classic southern summer treat.  No one can resist a platter of hot crispy fried green tomatoes.  There is nothing like them!  But, for those of us battling high cholesterol or watching our weight, they are off limits.  However, I recently discovered a method of making the dish without added fat.  Here's how....

Updates on H1N1 Influenza

icelaThe Department of Homeland Security held a press conference July 9th and Secretary Napolitano made comments on the H1N1 Flu. The thoughts on preparation are especially relevant. Here is an excerpt.

"One point I'd like to emphasize for all of us is that the work we do now on H1N1 is not wasted because it has applications and other scenarios as well. So even though we cannot—and science cannot predict what kind of flu or flu epidemic we are going to experience, and how serious its lethality will be—whether we're in a 1918 situation or a 1968 situation—that remains to be seen. But, what we do know, however, is that the preparations we do now would apply to many other scenarios as well—so the time, the efforts and the monies are put to good use."

Secretary Napolitano closed by saying that preparation is key. And it certainly is.

Flooring - A Fair Price

kathyOne of the most commonly asked questions when someone has an insurance claim that involves flooring replacement is, "Will my adjuster allow me a fair value for my flooring replacement?"  In most instances, the homeowner does not have an invoice for the original installation of flooring with exact specifications. Even if he did, would it give an accurate picture of current prices for "like, kind and quality" materials?  For that reason, insurance adjusters often use an objective third-party expert to ensure that both the adjuster and the homeowner receive a fair settlement price for flooring replacement and that fair replacement products can be located.
