Champion's Fans

"Mr. Jim Clark was my point of contact with Champion; he was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. It was a pleasure doing business with him. The members of all of the crews, water removal/drying, carpet layers and packers were courteous, professional, arrived on time, and completed work in a timely manner. In addition, they were friendly. We are very pleased with Champion's response and work and I will gladly recommend Champion to others. I will express my satisfaction with Champion to USAA." - Water Damage in Fayetteville, GA

Should You Buy A Refurbished Mattress?

Jeff Cherico an Investigative Reporter with CBS Atlanta visited Jeremy Reets at Champion Construction Systems, Inc. a few weeks ago to do a report on the dangers of purchasing refurbished mattresses. Jeremy has been in the carpet and upholstery cleaning business for most of his life so he is definitely an expert in the field. The investigation included cutting open mattresses that had been recovered to look new. You won't believe what they find inside!

Champion is an IICRC certified company and one of our many services include mattress cleaning. Of course, as you will see in this clip some things are not worth cleaning.

Champion Is Now A Member of Certified Restoration Team!

Champion is excited to announce that we are now a member of Certified Restoration Team!

What Is Certified Restoration Team?

Certified Restoration Team is a group of contractors that have all been certified to properly restore properties after a water or fire loss.  Did you know that the vast majority of restoration contractors have never been certified and perform substandard work in homes and businesses around the country?  Unfortunately those property owners don’t realize until too late that they have gotten poor quality service.  This can lead to on-going damage, mold growth, bacterial amplification and a generally unhealthy structure.

You can do a lot to prevent these problems by hiring a certified firm.  All of the firms that are a part of Certified Restoration Team must prove their credentials and maintain their certification through Continuing Education.   You can choose a Certified Restoration Team member with confidence because they have the knowhow to fix your property right.

No Certified Restoration Team member pays to be a part of the team and they don’t pay for referrals.  We work cooperatively for the advancement of our industry and the betterment of our customers.  Please support our efforts by recommending CRT to your insurance agent or adjuster.

Hurricanes in Georgia?  Yes! According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Georgia is at particular risk of being affected by hurricanes because it is a coastal state.  The hurricanes that affect Georgia are severe tropical storms that form in the southern Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane season lasts from June 1st until November 30th, but the majority of activity is from August until October. Therefore, every state resident and business owner should plan what to do in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm. Peachtree City Classic - We did it!

Alright! So just a brief update on my attempt to become a runner. Saturday October 16th Zach and I ran our first race. I guess technically it is a race. In my mind, I am just running... not racing. That being said, it was a lot of fun! The race was very well organized thanks to the Peachtree City Running Club and we got really cool shirts for participating. I ran the 5k in 31 minutes and Zach ran the 15k in 1 hour 22 minutes.

Going Green Is Catching On

pam1Going Green is almost a fad nowadays.  Celebrities are doing it, your neighbors are doing it, and you should too.  In order to go green you have to think way beyond recycling.  Unplugging your electronic household items when they are not in use can save 8% on your electricity bill each month because these items drain energy even they are off.  Setting your AC up higher than normal or at times even turning it off a couple of days a weeks can save enery through the summer months.  Carpooling with co-workers not only saves you money and fuel but also eliminates the amount of carbon monoxide that is released into the atmosphere, helping lower a risk of global warming.  Going Green not only saves money, but helps protect people, animals and our precious planet!

Beat the Heat

mollieAre you ready for another scorching Georgia summer?  Here are a few tips I have found helpful to stay cool on those hot summer days.

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Wear cotton clothes

  • If you work outside tie a wet cloth or bandana around your neck  (it really does help)

  • Keep freezer pops in your freezer for an instant cool down

  • Do yard work in the early morning or early evening hours

A Proactive Solution to Disaster

chloeThere are so many things to think about when you have a disaster.  You've barely had time to process the fact that you've had a loss and now you're being asked to try and remember everything  you own in detail in order to be compensated.  Naturally your stress levels increase and your patience decreases as you long for everything to just be over with.

Fortunately, there is something you can do right now in order to save your sanity later should you have a fire, water or storm loss.  Take a disposable, digital or video camera as well as  a notebook and create a detailed record of your belongings.    Be as specific as possible by jotting down model numbers, serial numbers, sizes, quantities, dates and other descriptive or important details.  When you are finished, place the developed photos, memory card or videotape and the notebook in a fire-proof, air tight container.  Safes usually provide the best protection.

Now, if you become the unfortunate victim of fire, water or storm loss, you have everything you need to fill out the necessary paperwork.  No, it won't make all of your stress levels disappear but it will help you overcome feelings of helplessness and will expedite the restoration process.  With a little time and effort you will have peace of mind.
