Champion's Fans

"Mr. Jim Clark was my point of contact with Champion; he was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. It was a pleasure doing business with him. The members of all of the crews, water removal/drying, carpet layers and packers were courteous, professional, arrived on time, and completed work in a timely manner. In addition, they were friendly. We are very pleased with Champion's response and work and I will gladly recommend Champion to others. I will express my satisfaction with Champion to USAA." - Water Damage in Fayetteville, GA

"I have never been as impressed with a great group of young men. Very professional, efficient and knowledgeable of their line of work. Considering the age of my crew; they out-performed the middle and older aged men I have worked with in similar job requests. Thank you!!! Big kudos to Colby...loved this kid!!!" - Water Damage in Ellenwood, GA

The Cotton Pickin' Fair in Gay, Georgia

The Cotton Pickin' Fair in Gay is just around the corner, and with this recent warm weather, I can't wait! The dates are May 7 & 8, Sat & Sun., 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The fair has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years and provides a day of fun for the whole family. The avid shopper can expect to find treasures such as pottery, quilts, sculpture, birdhouses, floral arrangements, clothing and antiques. There is always a host of good food such as sausage and biscuits, fried chicken and funnel cakes. For more information on the fair, the official site is www.cpfair.org. There you can find the entertainment schedule and map of the grounds. The address of the fair is 18830 Hwy 85, Gay, Ga. 30218. Plug it into your gps and plan on having a spectacular day! The price is $7 for adults and $4 for children 4-12.

Getting Your Child Ready For College?

My husband and I are about to send our second and last child to college this fall. If this is your first experience, I would like to provide you with some helpful tips. Unfortunately, like many mothers, I have spoiled my children. Therefore a lesson or two on how to do laundry is a must for us! The same goes for ironing! Although I don't anticipate the ironing board to come out very often, sometimes she may find the need to look professional for a function, or put together for a sorority dance. If your child is taking his/her car to college, then definitely have the tire changing lesson! Another must is to open a checking account for your child with a debit card for his use. This way they can learn to manage money, and you can transfer money into the account as needed. After the practical lessons are out of the way, start shopping for the dorm room. Even our son enjoyed choosing a new comforter and necessities for his "new space." Our daughter has really gotten into it! We've had a lot of success at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target and Pottery Barn Teen. Bed, Bath & Beyond has a college shopping list in thier stores so you don't forget anything. We used this as a check list when my son went to college, and will do the same with our daughter. Pottery Barn Teen is more expensive, but has really cute designs with teens in mind and the quality is good so the products should last them the entire four years. If possible, find a chest of drawers at a yard sale. The kids usually loft their beds and the chest can go under one of the beds while the futon goes under the other. College dorm rooms typically don't have much closet space, and the extra storage space is a necessity, especially for girls! Last, when the day arrives and it's time to move your child in, don't forget your box of Kleenex (and I mean box)! Although this is what we have prepared them for, that car drive home is one of the longest you will ever experience!
