Champion's Fans

"Mr. Jim Clark was my point of contact with Champion; he was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. It was a pleasure doing business with him. The members of all of the crews, water removal/drying, carpet layers and packers were courteous, professional, arrived on time, and completed work in a timely manner. In addition, they were friendly. We are very pleased with Champion's response and work and I will gladly recommend Champion to others. I will express my satisfaction with Champion to USAA." - Water Damage in Fayetteville, GA

"I have never been as impressed with a great group of young men. Very professional, efficient and knowledgeable of their line of work. Considering the age of my crew; they out-performed the middle and older aged men I have worked with in similar job requests. Thank you!!! Big kudos to Colby...loved this kid!!!" - Water Damage in Ellenwood, GA

"The crew was super courteous and professional. They also showed a level of compassion that was an unexpected surprise. They also took the extra step to explain every step." - Water Damage in Jonesboro, GA

"If I hadn't seen the damage beforehand, afterwards I wouldn't have know it had occurred. Great group of people both repairing and managing the crews." - Water Damage in Peachtree City, GA

“Champion has done a super job in getting the house squared away. All of their employees and subcontractors have been professional, courteous and helpful in answering our many questions and keeping us informed of schedules and other matters.” - Fire Damage in Peachtree City, GA

"Baby It's Cold Inside"

kathyWith temperatures plummeting here in Georgia this week, a safe warm home to come home to is on everyone's mind. But if your first comment as you walk in the door is, "Baby, it's cold inside!", you may decide to add a space heater or use your fireplace to toast your cold toes. But here are a few tips from the National Fire Protection Association on using auxillary home heating equipment.

Don’t Exfoliate Your Oriental Rugs!

2009-12-24_1630442009-12-24_1633442009-12-24_1635132009-12-24_163635Now I’m just as excited about exfoliation as the next warm blooded American man, but it is absolutely your area rugs’ worst enemy.  When dry soil gets on and in an oriental rug it exfoliates the surface of the fiber.  If you have rugs, they have soil in them.

Oh No! Not my wood floors!

lisaAs the Job Coordinator for our company, much of my time is spent in coordinating the selection and installation of replacement flooring.  To make the experience a little easier here is a Tip on Solid Wood installation.

If your floors are being sanded, finished or refinished, be prepared for some noise and disruption. Dust containment systems can minimize debris (we use an Air Scrubber), but no system is 100% effective, so cover any items that you want to keep dust-free. When the finish is applied, stay off your floors until it has dried. The time required will vary depending on the type of finish used. Keep in mind that no two floor boards will be identical. Variations in appearance are completely normal. As your floor ages, some color change can occur. This also is normal, but can be minimized by limiting exposure to direct sunlight, and periodically moving furniture and rugs. Cracks are normal as well, and will appear and disappear between floor boards during seasons of high and low humidity. Generally, anything less than the width of a dime is considered normal, and will correct itself as seasons change.

13 Inches of Standing Water - What a Mess!

steventhomas1Recently in Jonesboro, we dried a house that had flooded resulting in 13 inches of standing water in the crawl space. It took 3 days to pump all of the water out of the crawl space. The dirt had turned into mud and the structure was completly saturated.

Champion Saves the Day for a Local Restaurant

icela1Recently, a local franchise restaraunt/bakery experienced a burst pipe inside a wall.  The loss was estimated to have occurred sometime after 11 p.m. after everyone had left for the day.  The bakers arrived at 5 a.m. the following morning to discover the loss.  The bakers were at a loss as to what to do until a Champion Marketing Representative called to check on an order she was scheduled  to pick up later that morning.  They explained to her that her order would not be ready because they had water damage in their facility.

Have You Seen Our Wraps Around Town?

summerIn 2008 we embarked on a mission to "brand" Champion.  Part of that mission was to wrap our vehicles.  I am happy to say that this week we will have our 14th vehicle wrapped!  This may not seem like a big deal - but as the person who designs these wraps it is a huge deal!  Each time we send a vehicle to be wrapped, I anxiously wait for it to return so I can see the final product.  It's nerve-racking and exciting, although it shouldn't be because the company that does them for us has always been great.  In case you're wondering, it's Gregory's Quality Printing in Powder Springs, GA (www.gqpinc.com) - I thought I should give them a plug.  Below are a sample of some of the wraps we've done.  Let us know how you like them or just if you see them around.

Getting ready for the "Big Freeze" of 2009

larryTonight and tomorrow night are supposed to be near 10 degrees.  It's been 5-6 years since the temps went this low.  We're excited!  This will mean lots and lots of water damages!  Is it wrong to be so happy? :)  To prepare for this we're sending a truck to a distributor in Atlanta to buy lots more drying equipment.  And we have contacts where we can rent as much as we need.  Hundreds of pieces of equipment and seven trucks are ready to respond.  And the guys (and gals) are ready to work lots of overtime.    Whoopee!
