Champion vs. Old Man Winter

In January of this year Old Man Winter hit Georgians pretty hard. Temperatures in our area dipped down into the teens at night and barely got above freezing during the day on a couple occasions. Champion has learned from past experiences to be prepared for an influx of jobs from pipes freezing, thawing out, rupturing and then causing minimal to sever water damage to a home. Pipes can freeze in the wall or in the attic if not properly insulated. The latter usually causes the most damage which was the case with a job we received on January 20th. A water heater supply line in the attic had frozen and ruptured and by the way the pipe was insulated. The house was vacant unfortunately and the leak went unnoticed for several days and went from the attic through the main level, down to the basement and through the backyard and into the lake. According to the meter reader there was 50,000 gallons that leaked out of the pipe. Champion worked fast to get the large amount of demolition that was needed done and to start the dry out. With the fast response and the use of the TES drying system the job was complete within seven days yielding this comment from the homeowner:
“I would like to especially commend Mr. Brett Bishop.
He kept me well informed every step of the way and was
always prompt in answering questions whenever I needed.”
