Purchase a weather radio.

Prepare a disaster supplies kit with at least 3 days of food and water.

Properly insulate all walls and attic.

Properly insulate pipes in exterior walls.

Caulk and weather strip all doors and windows.

Install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
